Worshipped – Fatal Fantasies (1990)

Rachel Williams (Maria Shriver) is one of the most prominent models from Los Angeles on peak of her career. Since her last interview on T.V. broadcast, she receives ransom notes, her pets get slayed and her car blown up by an unknown fanatic (Rutger Hauer) who offends and insults Rachel for portraying nudity, supposedly being a scandal to publicity by showing her latest collection.

To protect herself from any other threats and violence jeopardizing her life, she hires Dan Harris (Bill Paxton) and his team, escorting her to all events and private actions. While the stalker terrorizes the famous fashion model, she and Dan get closer together and they feel love for each other.

Exhausted and stressed out by the aggressor’s violent assaults, humiliations and Dan’s clinging, she feels cramped and needs a timeout while losing attraction and faith in her relationship.
Taking a few weeks off with her sisters, female friends and assisting staff to the lake ends in a maze of paranoid and treacherous accusations, deaths and the true mastermind being too close among a few of his moles to spy her. Realizing her situation and true feelings for Dan, she manages to send him an emergency call leading him and the stalker directly towards her.

one great thing about SelloRekT LA Dreams besides being a beacon of the synthwave multiverse since its beginnings over 10+ years ago now (2022 edited review), is that this discography is FULL OF FULL LENGTH ALBUMS.. some bands will have only singles.. Another LP of midtempo outrun with what I think are light overtones of Blade Runner. "Sebastian" is my top track, almost entirely because of its echoing, cascading synth hook, and also because it's just full of so much upbeat wonder. I also like the more lo-fi "Circuits" and its pounding beat. "We're Not Human", with its gritty, synth stingers and slow beat is right on the cusp of darkstroll while keeping SLAD's customary warmth. "First Love" has a bright, ascending synth hook and relaxed pace. kmxexii
